This quote sounds like something Philomena Cunk would say
Homan: "I don't think the UK is a friend to this country and friend of the president"

Some of the replies in this thread weirdly go into defending JKR, so if you need more people to block...
"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

No. Just no. Burn it all down. 🤢

(Yes, it's a gift link... please read it, so I don't feel gross wasting one of my ten on Olivia Nuzzi, hah.)

FWIW, I inserted the names of a bunch of pop culture vampire lore into VAMPIRE WEEKEND as easter eggs, and Harold, Chester, and Howie are all in there.
I cannot endorse this enough. The Bunnicula audiobooks are perfect in every way (except Victor Garber doesn't do the final one) and they are a cozy listen that we all still really enjoy across ages.
Since we’re talking BUNNICULA I need everyone to know that the audiobook is read by Victor Garber and he truly out-gays himself. Harold and Chester absolutely come across as the fussy middle-aged couple they were obviously meant to be.

Here it is! My shaky, handheld recording of Taliesin Jaffe announcing @criticalrole.bsky.social The Mighty Nein: Stories Untold anthology from last night. Very cool to be namechecked live on the show alongside @rinchupeco.bsky.social. (Plus a corgi spotting!) Preorder now at criticalrolebooks.com

You could watch the morning replay too!
Watch tonight's @criticalrole.bsky.social for more on the just-announced Mighty Nein anthology. Respectfully, I'm having a blast writing a cozy adventure about everyone's favorite shopkeeper Pumat Sol (and Pumat Sol and Pumat Sol and Pumat Sol).

This is why I'm constantly banging the drum for @runforsomething.net
I know everyone uses social media differently. But during this time of rising fascism, if you have a platform, I'd ask that you pick at least one thing you care about & understand & share practical ways your followers can make a difference in fighting for it. If there ever was a time, this is it.

Live look at a very tired guy waiting for school pickup who is 10 years older than the fucko below. Is it my Asian genetics or his association with evil that is tipping the scales???

Very much looking for one of my books to breakout from "decent midlist sales" to "global phenomenon" simply so I could have a themed night at a San Jose Sharks game. Right now the only time they call me is to ask if I want to own season tix again.

Respectfully, you should watch @criticalrole.bsky.social tonight to learn about my next project (or go to the Del Rey Instagram, as it just went live over there: www.instagram.com/p/DRARXycATK...

1) The bullshit of the American healthcare system on display

2) This post could be the lyrics to a lost Smiths song
in Paris, I had to see a same-day doctor & I found one. was gravely warned that, as a foreigner, I’d have to pay 32 euros & I laughed & laughed

a friend there said “make sure you get X kind of doctor, not Y, because the Y kind charges 74 WHOLE EUROS” & once again I bitterly, bitterly laughed 😭

Question for @ukhadds.bsky.social - I went to a concert in a packed 500 person theater. I was front row and had my CO2 meter in my bag. Data showed ~1200 for the duration of the show. Does that mean the venue had decent exchange since it plateaued and wasn't forever escalating?

Apparently the Unannounced IP Anthology will get announced on Thursday! All I can say is that it's a new area for me.
I actually have no 2025 releases, which means that I have no eligibility.

But, uh, I have 4 releases next year:

Star Wars: Low Red Moon (Feb)
The Photonic Effect (April)
Unannounced IP Anthology (May)
Of Sorcery And Science (September)

Here's a micro example: I'm working on a short story for an anthology. I was over word count by 1k. I had to cut and consolidate beats, which led to sharper character moments and overall tigher prose. This required way more work than expected but the story is better for it.
The classic refrain is: constraint is the mother of creativity. Similarly, friction is the father of discovery.

It feels paradoxical when we're conditioned to obsess over efficiency. But the only perfect efficiency is doing nothing.

Felix Leiter got half eaten by a shark so I don't think anyone has to worry about lore continuity in Bond
Spoiler: it’s because he died. The writers of a franchise whose main character has been played by seven actors across sixty years think they have to come up with a plot explanation for the character coming back after dying in the previous movie. radaronline.com/p/james-bond...
