As we all set off on holiday travel a few reminders of gratitude:
- most people travel only a handful of times in their lifetime
- trips many of us go on multiple times per year are once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list trips for many people
- most people sit in economy seats, even on long haul flights

I’m not one to humble brag, but I could not be more proud of the work the entire United comms team did during the FAA-mandated flight restrictions. www.axios.com/2025/11/24/u...

I just imagine Spohr walking into someone’s office and going, "How much does it cost to paint one of those things?"

Imaginary Lufthansa group person: €XXXX

Spohr: “Okay, good, let's do ‘em all.”
November 24, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Holy moly.
Why paint one aircraft, when you can paint six? Lufthansa says its special 100th anniversary fleet will expand to 6 aircraft, including an Airbus A380, A350-1000, A350-900, & A320, and a Boeing 747-8. All special liveries are scheduled to be finished by fall 2026.

An #avgeek 🧵

If you fly people around for a living then one of the most common emergencies you deal with is passengers in medical distress.

When someone is having a serious issue it becomes a team effort for the crew and our support staff on the ground.

FAA Administrator Bedford confirms earlier @theaircurrent.com reporting at an industry event which said that the agency is not eyeing a full replacement of the common automation platform, a key ATC software technology.

ICYMI , all of these issues have existed with ATC since the presidency of Lyndon Johnson.

The FAA also has a shortage of technicians , aircraft certification specialists, safety inspectors and more.

Everybody knows this.
The shutdown may be over, but the task of fixing deficiencies that have dogged the nation’s aviation system is far from complete: A dire shortage of certified air controllers, outdated equipment and lack of funding to update those critical systems.
The shutdown is over, but the nation’s aviation problems are not.
