no sure, but let's not forget the time Obama wore a tan suit
Once upon a time, a President of the United States saying "fuck you" and raising his middle finger to an American factory worker would be front page news around the world. Now it's a "colour lede" on a business analysis. www.ft.com/content/36ab...

What's funny is you can tell exactly why it output this string.

When it stole literally all of Stack Overflow, it stole tons and tons of people's explanations of how to make a program that produces random character strings.

One of the easiest ways to do so, contains *this* ASCII string.
Lmao this rules so hard

Open up your iPhone’s Settings app and you’ll find dozens of different options with little guidance on what those options do. Some of these settings have a serious impact on your privacy and security, altering what data gets shared automatically with apps, data brokers, and Apple itself. What sorts of...

Tech startup idea: instead of starting your car with your key, you get in, turn on the display panel, enter your password, get your phone out, open the authenticator app, enter your pin, enter the timed passcode, then open the start menu, then helpdesk, then "request engine start", then submit a tic

Success stories do exist... ones I see all come from people who are/were software engineers

Learning to code / build software not a waste after all?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets into secret Strava wars with people.
My nemesis on Strava is an old colleague I haven't spoken to in 5 years. He doesn't know it, but we are in a war to see who is quicker and covers more mileage. I have all our stats logged on a spreadsheet.

"When you outsource the thinking, you outsource the learning. You don’t know your code. You’re babysitting it". Indeed, a very good read, harsh but realistic.
This blog is SO good at pointing out what should have been obvious about AI for coding (Copilot and others)

These tools are good for re-creating whatever they’ve been trained on.

They are not what will create the next, better generation of frameworks, libraries, technologies.
