I've said it before, but the idea that we've collectively, as an entire industry, pulled a complete 180º and treat sending your entire codebase to an external third-party as *normal* and not the 5-alarm P0 catastrophic event that it actually is makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
This _isn't_ an anti-AI argument. (There are plenty of those to go around.) It's an argument against closed, centralized AI, and in favour of open models you can run on your own hardware. It's critically important that we not mess this up.

the anthropic drama (tl;dr they blocked third party tools from using claude code subscriptions) is a useful reminder that you use LLMs at the pleasure of the companies providing them

sounds obvious but despite all the AI discourse, i don't see a lot of people talking about the consequences of this

fuck vercel, fuck Next.js, fuck Svelte, fuck Turborepo, fuck SWR, fuck SWC

Posing with the architect of a genocide for sales leads is an insane and deeply immoral stance

these projects cannot separate themselves from the CEO of the company who funds them

I’m pretty sure I’m simultaneously being blocked by AI skeptics AND by AI stans. Like, can a woman not have a nuanced perspective?

Let’s be honest, it’s both fucking terrible and fucking incredible. All at the same fucking time.

Over on the other site Elon Musk said that DOGE stopped $50M of condoms from being delivered to Gaza which Trump the repeated several times but it turns out that was the number for all contraceptive support from USAID everywhere on Earth, of which none went to Palestinians.

Love that billionaires are desperately trying to use AI to reduce employee headcount.

Completely and willfully disregarding the fact that when people don't have money, they can't use it to buy goods and services.

And they need jobs to get money.

Gun, meet foot.

At the beginning of 2024 I had newborn twins and two-year-old twins, I developed arthritis, and I got laid off while on paternity leave.

Since then, Steve and I started a business and doubled our old salaries.

2024 was the hardest year of my life.

Here's my review 👇

@jakebailey.dev I think I'm losing my mind, but I think I found an unexpected behaviour with TypeScript (?). Not sure if it's skill issue or a bug: www.typescriptlang.org/play/#code/C...

the account exists to incite harassment. only saving grace is they're bad at it. do me a solid and report them?
