the linguistic trap of assuming labels are prescriptive components of personhood rather than descriptive endlessly bugs me. far to often you'll see "i can't do [X thing that i am capable of doing] because i am [Y label]" without consideration for the fact that the self is a process of refinement.

this is just true though like guyssssssss it's been like this for years. you can't say the d word. you instead have to say normal things like "i hope you lose your right to healthcare and lose your job in the winter" which are acceptable insults even though they are also basically wishing death. duh

it’s a pretty simple idea that when you have a social network, high profile accounts and journalists should get manual review before suspensions etc and probably just take the post down w/ warning as your first move if it’s clearly a joke

so the dog trainer is coming on saturday to help me out but i figured i could at least try and get started with the easy stuff like “sit”, and this morning once he calmed down from his breakfast zoomies seemed like a good opportunity
he picked it up so fast!!!! just gotta keep reinforcing it!!!
