People are being sent to prison for fighting but of course ‘things you can do to get sent to prison’ is just going to escalate regularly until pretty soon it’s ‘Stephen Miller (or whoever)decided you should go to prison’ so now is the time to try to slow that process down as it is clearly occurring.

This is exactly right. The white kids and adults I know who know the true history of the United States and Colonialism don't feel bad or guilty; they feel angry, in community with their peers of other races, and empowered to push for change. Enlightened white people are dangerous to the hegemony.

It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

I suspect that many people fail to take action because they are waiting for the chance to do something that has direct results. They need to get over it. It is the nature of collective action that you are very unlikely to know if what ever you did mattered. But history shows, it DOES MATTER

I think I’ve mentioned it before but discovering Jacques Ellul’s writing on propaganda as the creation of a totalizing information space where a message is reflected in all mediums and all forms to imply unassailability, as opposed to just “biased messages” was really what clicked for me
