Trump has never once in his life extemporaneously used the phrase "western civilization." He was once asked about western liberalism and thought they were talking about California Democrats. One of the more blatant tells for a Miller-written screed.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

Straight-up sociopath.

Asked about a Guard member who’s dead because of his bullshit and it takes him 30 seconds to make it all about how great he is.
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

"Conservative groups, funded by fossil fuel magnates, spend $1B/yr interfering with public understanding of what is happening to our world. Few investments rival the return they've gotten from evangelicals."

An oldie but goodie makes the link between fossil fuels, climate denial, and U.S. religion.
How Fossil Fuel Money Made Climate Change Denial the Word of God

Kill me now.
We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

The data show that the US is under control of the beliefs of the 25-30% insane extremists who are out of step with majorities. The vicious so-called Christian white nationalists.

People in the U.S. need to be paying attention to what’s happening in the U.K., because it’s going hand in hand with what is happening in the U.S., the agitators at work on both sides of the pond are working hand in hand with each other, and both have similar goals of ethnic cleansing.

I literally cannot believe Jeanine Pirro is the U.S. Attorney for Washington DC.

End of empire stuff right here.
REPORTER: There are people upset with the president, believing the National Guard members shouldn't have been there

PIRRO: I don't even wanna talk about whether they should've been there. We ought to kiss the ground and thank God that the president said it's time to bring in more law enforcement

If this is pre-1975 (and it certainly looks it!) then these Nervine tablets were a straight mixture of bromide salts. Bromides had well-known tranquilizing effects, but well-known toxic side effects that got them removed from the over-the-counter market.

Okay, so presumably you wouldn’t get a white powder by lyophilizing human bodies, but maybe you’d get a white powder by lyophilizing just human brains, right?

sooo honest q, not rhetorical — how much can we really believe anything the federal government says about the shooting, including (and especially) DOJ, FBI, DHS, etc? like, how are folks in journalism thinking about it?

I honestly think Episode 5 is worthy of awards. It’s not Felina- or Ozymandias-level, but maybe like Crawl Space or To’Hajiilee (quality, not intensity).
I absolutely cannot wait another 9 days for the next episode of Pluribus
