What type of respected economist agrees to a political set up like what Willis just announced with an RBNZ Covid inquiry - to be released 6 weeks before an election - when she's had 2 years and more to do it?

$2.7b. $2.7b!
This money could have powered 90,000 houses with rooftop solar and battery based on $30k per system.
That is how you reduce cost of living, have more renewable energy and create resilience in the system.

“Slash, storms and the fight over responsibility”

Forestry companies want to do this to communities and face no consequences, it’s fixable at source but they don’t want to spend the money on the fix or the clean up. NZ’s problem is a government on the side of the Forestry companies not NZ. #nzpol
Slash, storms and the fight over responsibility
Extreme weather may be the trigger for deadly and devastating slash, but the lines on who is responsible for prevention and clean-up are blurred.

RNZ *again* printing extremist PR verbatim without sufficient critique or analysis

Nor a response from opposition or health professionals or NGOs

Nor in an environment where they're promoting, or even reporting, on legitimate health crises or issues

This is a choice

The reality below is what pissed me off most with the "analysis" on 3.

Luxon's utterly *moronic* spin at the Convention Centre "did not get the ovation like last time, but no matter, he can point to some wins!"

Lalalalalala 🤡

DO. ACTUAL. JOURNALISM!
STOP. LAUNDERING. THIS. GOVTS. BS!
NZ is under water literally and figuratively, people are suffering but Luxon - in all his shiny vacuous ignorance - delivered a state of nation speech that ignored towns under water and people under siege because of the cost of living crisis & his govt cuts to social supports. #nzpol

Look. What I say to you is this.

I was entitled to my entitlements when claiming $1,000 a week to live in my own flat. I changed the law on capital gains so I could sell and pocket a fortune and to give myself massive mortgage interest tax breaks.

So yes, times are tough. For others.
