One of the strangest aspects of aging that they don't warn you about is watching as history gets rewritten right in front of your face and people 20 years younger than you confidently tell you about something you lived through and get it completely wrong.

Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

I actually think part of being a good person is having zero tolerance for people who intentionally spout harmful ideologies that lead to innocent people being hurt. You should be loudly and openly against these people. Good people don’t sit by quietly.

I think about this advice a lot: start your project now, today, even if it'll take you 10 years to do, because the time is going to pass anyway. Time is going to march on! Might as well have something in progress!

Supporting LGBT rights and experiences is supporting men’s mental health.

Men’s mental health takes a drastic toll when same-sex attraction, vulnerability, gender expression, and masculinity being a spectrum are not only scoffed at but stifled their entire lives.

A healthy man is a free man.

Lilo & Stitch works perfectly in animation. Achieving the lush stylization, the comedy, chaos, and heart in this story could really only be done in this medium.

Lots of creators create because we just want to share our silly little pictures & stories hoping they make people feel something (usually good hopefully lol). 99% of all the art, comics & stories in the world don't win awards or receive accolades & prestige but that doesn't make them bad.

Info on its energy gobbling should be in every news story about AI. It is newsworthy. It is inseparable from the tech itself.
It's all fun and games until …

"Professor Gina Neff of Queen Mary University London told the BBC #ChatGPT is "burning through energy", and the data centres used to power it consume more electricity in a year than 117 countries."

As online users create Barbie-like dolls of themselves, experts urge caution over AI's energy and data use.

I started drawing at 28 years old, and that’s because learning how to draw is so accessible

So many people sharing tips, tutorials, showing their processes, being open to talk about techniques, give critique… I’m thankful for that

I’d say there’s no such thing as an identity crisis in your early-20s. Your 20s are FOR experimenting with and discovering your identity, it shouldn’t be solidified. I’m in my mid-30s and I feel like I only truly discovered myself a few years ago and am STILL developing. We’re all works in progress.
What would you tell to someone who is having a slight identity crisis while being an adult in their early 20s?

Bluesky is a great site but you have to unlearn EVERYTHING Twitter has ever taught you to make it useable.

Repost yourself. Interact with others. Use tags. Use feeds. Be kind and find kindness. Comment away. It's really really freeing.

creating art with the sole purpose of trying to entertain an audience and listening to them only is genuinely one of the worst things you can do as an artist.

you should be more selfish.

I was on Twitter in 2009. The first time my art ever went viral was bc Wil Wheaton rt’d it. I made a lot of friends, fans and contacts on Twitter.

Twitter. Is. Dead.

It’s “x” now. It’s not the place we all loved to hang out, anymore. It was killed and now Nazis are infesting the corpse. Leave it.
Artists need to let this sink in:

The thousands of followers who insist you stay there are actively hurting you at this point. You deserve a better audience who understands your rights and concerns. The sooner you rebuild, the easier it gets.

It might hurt my bottom line, but I’m probably going to stop posting art to Twitter entirely and I suggest you do too.

Not only is the site actively putting a “Okay, now remix this” button below art (and elevating them above the OP with a QRT) and it’s false flagging original art as made by AI.
