This has been *confirmed*: so not only did this make it through dozens of levels of decisions where no one spoke up to say "this is unethical and looks like shit", it's also so bad it was instantly spotted by thousands of people like me who in a split second said "hey that looks like shit".

Hi, for those who don't know, it doesn't matter one single iota if your project is "free". You do not have the rights to use art you find and distribute it. That's literally what licensing is for.
Your circumstance and goal has nothing to do with whether you are allowed to use anyone's art.

As an example: AI doesn't understand "no." Because the statements "no ketchup on my burger" and "ketchup on my burger" are almost identical to a machine that does not and cannot actually reason. It's only a 2 letter difference.

LLMs are doubly deceptive. Most people think that they can ask it a question and get an answer. The majority of the rest think that you can ask an LLM a question and it will return what an answer might look like, statistically.

But it's actually even worse. It doesn't "read" the prompt; it guesses.

What you're getting from an LLM is a statistical approximation of what the answer would be to a statistical approximation of the question.

This is why prompt engineering is fake. The prompt (and any input data) is just a suggestion - and helps fool you into thinking that your question was answered.

I really recommend browsing a reddit called "Is this AI?" for this purpose. people post questionable images and commenters weigh in on their validity, but are required to provide specifics as to their reasoning. once you start seeing the signs, it gets easier and easier over time

genAI is so good nowadays that we're all gonna get got eventually, but being told/shown over and over that you're disseminating a lie, and just ignoring people who point it out, is a serious red flag.

That "resistor" account sharing a genAI video (faking a reporter being detained by ICE) and then shutting down their comments after everyone tried to tell them, is precisely why I block those accounts on sight.

They pretend to care, but they don't. All they want is for their numbers to go up.

people are going to post AI slop...sometimes they just do not realize it at the time and have the good graces to delete it
