I tend to think Black Mirror is a pretty dumb, barn-broad show, only innovative to people who've never encountered sci-fi before. So it says a lot that the only ideas tech has anymore are lifted directly from it.

What browser is good right now? I don't want Chrome for obvious reasons. Edge has better features but is also owned by a horrible company, and I just don't like Firefox. I don't want a browser stuffed with AI, so Arc, Brave, and DDG are out as well.

As a teenager, I decided there was nothing wrong with doing drugs, having sex, or rejecting traditional values. Now that I'm in my thirties and have seen what can happen if you don't do those things, I'm glad to report that I was entirely correct.

The very stupid-on-its-face OU essay "scandal" is about forcing a trans person out of higher ed, and discussing the actual essay is acceding to the fascist framing of the issue and arguing on their terms.
