Happy first week of the new #ksleg session!

Glad Minority Leader Woodard took up my framing of the property tax amendment as creating a "garbage California market" for Kansas.

B/c, and they talk about this in the podcast, it *would* screw up the housing market.

It's not "targeting" to write something down.

Targeting is when you shoot someone in the back who is being held down.

This is just sparkling getting on your nerves.

Why is she so good at this and like no other members of Congress are? (I miss Katie Porter & her whiteboard, tbh)

I also love that she uses a disarming, charming smile before she moves in for the kill.

We *do* need a Glass-Stegall for healthcare. Or to trash the entire system for #Medicare4All

This is 1000% true.

The modern Democratic Party would simply collapse were it not for the efforts of women of a certain age.

I'd say "Take a bow, ladies" but you're all too humble and self-effacing for that and I honestly love you all so much. 😍🥰
Almost every time I volunteer to do the actual work with some group - from phonebanking to door knocking to folding zines or whatever - the crowd is anywhere from 70 to 90 percent femme. Also, primarily OLDER people.

Older ladies actually make shit happen.

I jist fell down a rabbit hole of reading stories from the Guardian's "Dining Across the Divide" series.

I wish American media would do stuff like this: I found the series quite fascinating despite it being thoroughly British-oriented.

Dining across the divide: ‘She’s not unwelcoming or racist but she thinks immigration is creating a brain drain elsewhere’
They had different opinions on social media, asylum seekers and ‘woke’ politics, but which Stewart Lee sketch got them both laughing?

This is nonviolent resistance. If she comes with violence, they get the cover of “law & order” to meet her with violence. Instead, coming like this, she has removed all good response options from the authorities.

Mike Tyson!?!

WTF is Mike Tyson doing with all of these awful, detestable people at the White House???
An insane, perfect encapsulation of it all:

The same day Trump’s agents kill a Veterans Affairs ICU nurse in broad daylight, the CEOs of Apple and Amazon join Trump to watch a private screening of a film about his wife directed by an alleged sexual abuser who was seen shirtless in the Epstein Files

I am thisclose to starting a Bluesky handle called "That's an Impeachable Offense" that just retweets things that are impeachable offenses.

I'm just not sure I have enough time to do that with all the impeachable offenses going on.

And ICE can execute, arrest, or disappear you for no reason, with no process and no accountability. So there goes the 5th and 6th.
What the Trump Admin is telling you.

-Don't record ICE
-Don't carry a gun around ICE
-Don't ask ICE for a warrant.

So that takes out the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments.

You know, JoCo, it was REALLY a bad idea not to elect a Democrat as District Attorney last election.

Because our DA Steve Howe would never, ever, EVER say this publicly.

Let's not make this mistake ever again, OK? Any Democrat who has ever run for the position would be better than him now.
DA Bregman: If ICE comes in without a warrant, without reasonable suspicion, without probable cause, that is false imprisonment in New Mexico. You can’t confine, restrain, or detain someone without proper legal authority to do so. And there’s no exception for law enforcement.
