She came in through the bathroom window,
Protected by a silver spoon.
But now she sucks her thumb and wonders
By the banks of her own lagoon.
Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me.

One factor in the catastrophic failure of the Democratic Party is its addiction to accepting the right-wing's general framing of reality, then only offering an apologetic, more liberal band-aid "solution." It's not watered-down leftism; it's a watered-down version of bad-faith conservatism.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25
Pete Buttigieg critiques Democrats for focus on identity

I’m in PDX for the book festival and just went to see the new Predator movie. A 6:30pm show on a Friday—opening night for one of those “sure thing” tentpole sequels the suits swear will save the industry.

There were only THREE other people in the entire movie theater. Hollywood’s broken.
