Buried in the Doug Ford govt's fall budget are changes that would remove parts of Wasaga beach from provincial protection. As I reported in August, those parts are 60% of the world’s longest freshwater beach and the main nesting area for the endangered piping plover: thenarwhal.ca/wasaga-beach...

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Last week, one of my colleagues made a quiz for multilingual learners.
We practiced coordinates on a Cartesian plane but I didn't realize that the first answer was (6, 7) and when I took the quiz up all the kids started shoutint "SIX SEVEN!"🤦🏻♀️

I had the pleasure of seeing gannets for the FIRST TIME from a distance in Cheticamp, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
However, the next day, I missed my birding boat tour by an hour because I had put it in my digital calendar under the wrong time zone 😑
One day I'll be back with my binoculars

This year, we are first time homeowners and are excited to hand out candy for Halloween, but I refuse to give a single cent to Nestle because they continue to use child labour.
I'm also annoyed that as a teacher of CHILDREN I am one of the few people at work that holds this stance 😑

I learned that Louis Armstrong had played publicly for 3 hours while staying at The Walper Hotel!

Friends in Ontario: Shoppers Drug Mart let us book our COVID/flu shots for the end of the month. (We're low-risk people so we're only eligible for our COVID vaccine as of Oct. 27.) We'll be rolling up our sleeves to get all that vaccine goodness the following day -- on Oct. 28. Just FYI.
