When I worked at a bookstore, I quickly learned that people cannot tell the difference between Xmas music and any Baroque or Elizabethan music album that doesn't get too organ-ish. I used this to my advantage.

One customer caught on... AND THANKED ME
If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

I didn't know who Nuzzi and Lizza were before this morning, but I managed to learn about them in the context of RFK Jr. felching and the collective writhing mass of regret that is the Bluesky discourse currently. What a way to wake up on a Saturday.

I already know depression hates to see this man coming. I’m cancelling all of my therapy appointments and adding this song and dance to my morning routine.

Can we please discuss accessibility at conferences?

When organizers and schedules assume that everyone can walk fast and climb stairs, people with mobility issues (visible or invisible) might feel excluded.

So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

In April 2009, the Washington Post asked 10 writers to make the case for something that deserves to be tossed out as part of "spring cleaning."

I chose Larry Summers.

I shouldn't be surprised that Larry Summers continued to have a powerful career after the uproar over calling women intrinsically inferior at science, but I am. Anyone who believes this shouldn't be dictating liberal policies. I'm glad he's finally being removed. @harvard.edu should also yeet him🧪

indeed, for every academic abuser and enabler: i promise there’s an amazing grad student out there who is doing work that’s as good or better.

we’ve let the myth of the lone genius guy carry on too long. it’s caused so much harm, in so many ways.
I refuse to believe that Larry Summers' expertise and skills are indispensable in any way. Please find another economist and policy expert, @americanprogress.bsky.social. There are loads out there.

And then just started playing with her dinosaurs instead. A lesson in emotional regulation for us all.

MoveOn, Indivisible, Our Revolution, and 6 Democrats have called on Chuck Schumer to step aside as leader.

So we asked all 40 Democratic senators who didn’t cave to Republicans if they still think Schumer is the right leader.

Here's what they said.

This is such a difficult choice for universities to make, when students, professors and staff all rely on funding to keep doing their work and their salaries. But Cornell's not a small college that doesn't have other resources -- it could weather the Trump storm more than others. Disappointing.
