Vance undermining the US Olympic Team would be too on the nose
American star Alysa Liu overcame a delay en route to the Milano Skating Arena caused by Vice President JD Vance’s motorcade and finished second in the women’s short program at the Olympics team event.

“We almost didn’t make it,” her coach said.
Nothing could stop the U.S. figure skating team. Not even JD Vance’s motorcade.
Alysa Liu and world champion dance team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates have the Americans leading the team event after day one.

This is why we use every tool, including the courts.

This is why we don't let the regime future fake us.

This is why we don't give them any victories.

This is why we defend the rule of law.

This is why we don't say, "I guess this is a thing they can do now."

We hold the line.

The Trump administration no longer wants to appeal the decision of a federal judge in Oregon that blocked the president from deploying National Guard troops to Portland. The decision leaves in place a permanent injunction from November that blocked troops from deploying to Portland.

Every now and again I remember that the reporter who wrote the first & most influential "Biden can't hack it" story was in love with a close political ally of Trump, and wrote in her book that she'd willingly give up her own career to advance the career of that ally, and I get mad all over again.
Trump at National Prayer Breakfast: "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would've had a bad ego for the rest of my life. Now I really have a big ego. Beating these lunatics was incredible ... The first time they said I didn't win the popular vote. I did"

This is the backlash effect.

Repression and overt cruelty backfire when decent people refuse to accept Stephen Miller's monstrous Nazi vision for this country.
Amazing. If a professional wrestling crowd is chanting "fuck ICE," it suggests to me that large swaths of the culture are not just upset over ICE tactics, they're coalescing against mass deportations as a broader ideological project.

Republicans love adding seats to state Supreme Courts! They've done it three times in recent years. This latest court-packing plan will shift Utah's high court far to the right and possibly flip rulings on abortion and gerrymandering.

Democrats should take note that Rs have deemed this acceptable!
This hasn’t received nearly enough attention:

Republicans just passed a law to pack Utah’s Supreme Court after it ruled against their congressional gerrymander.

Cox could appoint two more justices before the court hears the GOP’s latest appeal to preserve their gerrymander
Utah governor signs bill adding justices to state Supreme Court as redistricting appeal looms
Once the new seats are filled, Gov. Spencer Cox will have appointed five of the seven justices.

As I've been saying: defending democracy requires being appropriately alarmed. "There won't be elections!!" is an absurd and counterproductive line, but "they can't possibly do anything bc the federal government doesn't run elections and they don't have the manpower" is unwarranted complacency.
You don't have to believe that the fascists are competent enough to suppress voting everywhere in 2026 or 2028. You just have to believe that they can depress minority turnout in 5-10 cities to affect entire Senate races & the Electoral College. 2024 was decided by 120K votes in 3 states, after all.

This is how it's done. This is the correct way to build a narrative and push into the midterms. Democrats need not just majorities, they need supermajorities to shut this insanity down. Focus your energy on making that happen!
Step 1: Trump begs voters in the Fort Worth area to back a GOP candidate in a special election in a red district.

Step 2: The Dem wins by double digits.

Step 3: Trump pretends Step 1 didn’t happen. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

Uber Eats, Fantuan & HungryPanda broke the law — shortchanging workers while raking in profits.

Today, we secured $5M+ in restitution for 49,000 delivery workers.
