Whatever my uni declares, I am not going to engage with AI. I am not going to use AI or teach students to use it. I am going to continue to explain to students why it is harmful. Absolutely absurd to allow this anti-intellectual, environmentally devastating technology into the university at all.

UK Higher Education policy remains a - to use the technical term - hot mess, addicted to international students' money but terrified of anything to do with migration regardless of the obvious benefits of overseas students both economically and socially.

The Doomsday Machine that is our university funding system will destroy everything in the end. First it destroys individual lives, then social mobility, then most universities, followed by the structure of income tax and the pension system. In the end it could threaten to destroy the economy itself.
I left university in 2019 with £49,600 of debt. A few months later, I became an MP and have since received a salary that puts me in the top 5% in the country. 6 years on, the repayments from my salary have brought this total to down to £48,600 - just £1,000 less.

The discourse is all around deradicalising young men and the crisis among young men.

The discourse would be much better targeted if it was about deradicalising boomers (and increasingly Gen Xers).

Airstrikes were never going to destroy Iran's capacity to develop nuclear weapons - they are too well protected and advanced. Intention can only be to increase the political costs, yet the of Israeli strikes on Iraq's nuclear program is that this will drive political will and not curb it.
