Interesting referral by the CCRC. I've never really understood how British citizens can just be interned by their own government. There is now the possibility that it was unlawful as well

Narges was portrayed in "Prisoner 951", a BBC drama centered on Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliff. A particularly poignant scene was when she (Narges) was removed from Evin prison. In the timeline of the drama she was not seen again. Meanwhile Iran suffers drought and economic collapse

This isn't a drama. It's a warning.

The new BBC drama, Prisoner 951, tells the story of Richard and Nazanin’s fight for justice.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori were unjustly imprisoned in Iran, and Amnesty UK campaigned for their release.

While obviously Lammy's proposal of scrapping many jury trials is getting the headlines, it seems odd how little attention his proposal to scrap the automatic right to appeal is getting. That seems like quite a big thing to be honest, especially for poorer and more marginalised defendants. #r4today
