Toddler earlier as I tried to explain New Year to him "I don't want to go to 2026, I want to go home" - I sort of sympathise.

Getting to Net Zero is cheaper than letting the planet burn. Twice as cheap in fact.

If we do nothing, climate change will cost us 15% of global GDP. Getting to Net Zero limits those costs to 7%.

Open up this picture fully.

Then look at the surface of Mars.

Then look up to the top right.

Spot Mars' moon Phobos high in the sky.

Then notice the bright spot beside Phobos.

That's Earth.

The problem with the BBC being the nation’s finest engine for soft power, is that people have realised that they can easily exert hard, nasty, cruel power on it, and bend it out of shape.

Empathy, curiosity and compassion shouldn’t be problematic qualities that need silencing. Seems they are now.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

New! Cassetteboy vs Keir Starmer.

This took absolutely ages, so if you'd like to buy us a coffee at ko-fi.com/cassetteboy we'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Politicians used to do this all the time, it was called "talking to voters" or "making the arguement", now it appears refreshing and innovative. Only people I've seen doing it in recent years are Polanski and @eddavey.libdems.org.uk
This is how you go about reaching people. It's not a difficult argument to make - we just need politicians to make it.
We all need to be having these conversations.

The BBC keep referring to Kier Starmer backing and then sacking Peter Mandleson. They'll be talking about the government cracking next.

This is a masterclass in using a platform to stand up for what you believe in.
Hugh Bonneville started his live ITV London News interview on Downton Abbey by talking about Gaza.

RIP Jim Lovell
‘When I circled the moon and looked back at Earth, my outlook on life and my viewpoint of Earth changed... Earth is a spaceship, just like Apollo & just like Apollo, the crew must learn to live & work together. We must learn to manage the resources of this world with new imagination.’

The post office is sponsoring drama on ITV. That's quite a ballsy move if you think about it....
