He's not good enough and too quick to blame others
Asked Tua what’s gone wrong with the passing game over the past month.

He said first of all, he needed to play better — but he was also disappointed in how he prepped the Dolphins’ receivers this week, from an operational and communication standpoint:

“I feel like I let my guys down.”

I think that means that the needs of the environment will have lesser significance than housing etc
New Ministry will include programmes like Going for Housing Growth, transit-oriented development, congestion pricing, road user charges, Local Water Done Well, City and Regional Deals, and the National Adaptation Framework.

Has the whiff of Hilary's "undesirables" about it and is likely to be as successful. Being an "unqualified" Greens supporter I find it condescending
Yup, only 15% of ACT voters have a Bachelor's degree or higher compared to the Greens which is at a massive 55% of Greens voters with a Bachelor's degree or higher.

Also educated people are 2x as likely to vote Labour than National and a massive 7x more likely to vote Greens than National

Yeah Starmer's victory was because of unique circumstances (14 years of austerity) and the electorate did not realise what a mendacious toad he is - in the pockets of big business. Chris (there's no money tree) Hopkins showed us who he was in his 9 months as PM. Starmer is now the worst polling PM.
Lots of Starmerite style red flags in the Hipkins interview, one that stands out is when he states 'we can't keep throwing money into health' that old neoliberal chestnut which is code for privatising health through (public private partnerships) #nzpol

I think the signs here are pointing to a more center right, less caring, more National looking Labour next election

Rather than a Labour that is actually taking a stand and willing to do the work needed to undo the damage this current coliation has done

'Opportunity to stamp my own mark': Chris Hipkins promises a different Labour
The last election saw Labour's six years in government come to an end, and Hipkins returning to the opposition benches just 10 months after becoming prime minister.

Hipkins stamp is the conservative stamp and it has run out of ink. The voters tossed him out after his brief insipid do nothing prime ministership but instead of taking notice he has doubled down despite this rejection. He's a dead man walking
Or - hear me out. Vote for the Greens.
Intelligent tax policies that give us the means to solve many of the problems of inequity and poverty as successfully as unions, ministry of works and education did post war.

Yip USA piracy
I see NZ media is now just regurgitaring fascist US lies now.

The tanker was not 'rogue'. That was an excuse/lie used in order to illegally pirate the vessel.

We need series media reform in this country. This is unacceptable.

A faint hope I had was that the AI boom would be over and exposed as the scam it is before they set their sights on NZ or we had a Govt not willing to be taken in by these billionaires. But think about it further even if we have a Lab led coalition in Govt they are foolish enough to be suckered in.
That’s an obscene amount of energy. Meta should foot the bill.
Mark Zuckerberg is building a data center in Louisiana that will use 3x more electricity than all of New Orleans.

Oligarchs want YOU to pay for these data centers with higher water & electric bills.

Americans must fight back against billionaires who put profits over people.

Luxon and Hipkins both agree that there is no need for an inquiry into the Police.

Any person not personally implicated in this vile affair can clearly see that the NZ Police are utterly and systemically rotten and need a thorough clean out from the top down.

It's the time of year where the media focus on public service Xmas parties. In my experience these are mostly self funded whereas corporates have egregiously extravagant events ultimately funded by their customers.
Like, look at this headline next to a picture of Peggy Burrows, a principal called out by the DPM last week. If you read the article, she hasn't done anything that's mentioned in the headline. Is thus a hit piece or what? #nzpol

A back to basics is required for Labour. Focus on the correctness of the policy rather than being strategic, use of focus groups PR style politics etc. If you build it they will come
Hipkins is trying to bring strategically-timed, focus-group tested policy releases to a knife fight. Also, he appears not to realise he’s in a knife fight.
