puts into context the pro-bishop articles over the last few weeks. which reporters are on the leash?

too many are frothing so hard for the sad little parlor games that pass for intrigue in NZ that they abrogate their responsibilities as journalists and overtly take sides - often against the public

hey look TPUSA operates EXACTLY the same as TPU and FSU in NZ 🤔🤔
The fact that TPUSA posted the entirely reasonable comments from the instructor here as coming from the “TRANS PROFESSOR” gives away the game.

They’re not defending students, they’re targeting faculty — as always
idk not to mention how very nuanced and normal the actual response here was

It's not good enough that Shanan and Webb have been the only people to say something. A leader would have said something but that leader is too busy leaving a window open for nzf and being a racist dick at tpm. The health spokesperson should DEFINITELY have said something publicly by now. 🦗

It’s not being reported properly is a poor excuse these days

Newcastle Port now closed to coal ships! Wish we had drone footage of 5 Nannas in a tinny breaching 100m exclusion zone in an ‘exciting back &forth with police boats’. (Observers report). No arrests. Harbour authorities closed the port to coal ships. @risingtideaus.bsky.social

@chrishipkins.bsky.social Lead on trans rights and gender affirming care or get out of the way. This is coming directly from the medical professionals who know best, and protects the people who are most vulnerable to losing life-saving care. THIS IS AN EASY WIN. TAKE THE W.
Labour have been gifted opportunity by PATHA releasing gender affirming care guidelines, and still haven't said anything (AS A PARTY) to support human rights of trans people

If you're not pushing back on the National coalition then you're helping them along

It feels like the traditional supposedly “left” parties are slowly being outed as being overrun by cynical so-called “centrists” who simply wish to position themselves wherever their best chances of power lie. They have no solid values, no vision and will abandon principles for votes or $$.

Hello #nzlabour folks on Bluesky, I'm just letting you know, I would be exceedingly happy if your party had a leadership shake up.

Have you forgotten what having the energy of Ardern felt like in 2017? I haven't.

This isn't it. I want bold action. I want hope. I don't want incrementalism.
Restraint. Fucks sake Labour is that bewedded to the cancerous Centralism Incrementalism it has learnt nothing from 2023 when it got its arse handed to it because of Centralism Incrementalism

If all Labour can offer is National Lite why would people change to Labour

They wont

In the end, I know that Ardern was another neoliberal, but Hipkins has no energy. He has no spark. He will not win you this election. Why should anyone vote for Labour when your leadership has largely been uninspiring for the past 2+ years?

Labour is getting barely any conference coverage, & that's despite pitching almost directly to the establishment & couching progressive policies to appeal to an imagined 'centre'

Is it really worth it if media won't even let you get a watered down, or even *reactionary*, message to the electorate?

Y'know I have my critisisms of Jacinda, but I am so greatful we got most of Labour governing alone with her as leader and not Hipkins. I voted for Labour in 2020, and if Hipkins is the best they can offer then I don't think I'll ever vote for Labour again #nzpol
