Poverty is a policy choice and charities are performative bullshit machines that lets govts off the hook for their MAJOR AND MOST IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY. And churches in particular have enabled discrimination of giving - if they didn’t hoard realestate and did their job, poverty would not exisit

Charities are actually part of the greed problem - and all churches are guilty. Rather than countries simply care of everyone, they allow charities to “relieve rich guilt” while also picking and choosing who is worthy.
But churches like this are just as greedy - and have not done the job at all.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.
