What am I making for Thanksgiving dessert? This recipe of mine from a few years ago. Even if you don't want to bother making a cheesecake, the apple cider caramel over some ice cream would make a VERY FINE dessert.

That happens to have a lemony cheesecake on the side

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

So, apparently, to our president, upholding your oath and calling for the military to support and obey the Constitution is...seditious behavior. But calling for members of Congress (who are also honored veterans) to be hanged because they are honoring the Constitution is...just fine.

Trump: "This has been according to those that seem to say it, and I would never say a thing like that because I want to be very modest. I always want to be modest, as modest as I can. They say this has been the best 9 month that any president has ever had." (Note the laughter from the crowd.)
