Surprise! Publishing a book isn't always non-stop glamor-a-go-go. You put your baby into the world and "whee!" and then (unless you shoot to the top of the bestseller list) it can get a bit quiet. Which is why when a neighbor comes over w copies of your book to sign, it really makes your day.

Would you buy a cookie that cost 12.99? And why do that if you can have a whole cookbook (mine: The Secret Life of Chocolate Chip Cookies) of chocolate chip cookie recipes for twice the price?!
