Great piece illustrating how Trump has reshaped the so called Environmental protection agency (EPA) such that it is now driving harms to the environment and our health with impacts that will be felt across the world. A quick 🧵🧪 #HealthPolicy #climatechange
How Trump’s EPA rollbacks could harm our air and water – and worsen global heating
Experts say administration has launched ‘war on all fronts’ to undo environmental rules – here are the key areas at risk

U.S. ultimatum to vaccine group: No more funds unless you stop using thimerosal
This mercury-containing compound, used as a vaccine preservative, is commonly used in lower-income countries — and deemed safe. The U.S. is now demanding that Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance stop using it.

Oracle founder and Trump ally Larry Ellison now controls the TikTok algorithm.

But that's not all.

He and his son have a media empire that controls CBS, Paramount, Warner, CNN, and more.

Trump friendly billionaires own a huge chunk of the media.

Lies, but unsurprising coming from Bhattacharya
Bhattacharya, a moment ago: "What you've been seeing in the press is that there have been funding cuts. There haven't been funding cuts. What there has been is a change in agency priorities."

Y'all, it matters that journalists are being arrested on US soil for existing as journalists. Remember when we told y'all fascist regimes look a particular way. This is that.

Errrrrrrrr
I’ve said it before: I know they’re trying to avoid sanewashing through a combination of direct quoting and dry understatement, and that’s better than just ignoring his deranged babbling, but I don’t think “dry understatement” is really what the moment calls for.

Just great 🫠
In early 2025, the National Cancer Institute terminated 181 extramural grants, totaling more than $640 million in awards. Terminations targeted primarily basic science, general oncology, and early-career investigators.

Haha oh, are we considering me wealthy? I don't FEEL wealthy with this economy and tariffs

Gross. Amazon
Amazon just announced another round of 16,000 layoffs, months after it laid off 14,000 workers.

Reminder that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy raked in over $40M in 2024.

And Amazon is spending at least $75 million producing and promoting the Melania documentary.

The system is rigged.

More of this, please
Days after Secretary Noem took office, she purported to "vacate" decisions by Secretary Mayorkas to extend TPS for Venezuela and Haiti — even though the law says repeatedly that TPS, once granted, lasts until it expires.

The 9th Circuit says she had no authority to do that.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s termination of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans and Haitians was unlawful, a Ninth Circuit panel found.

It’s the first time an appellate court has ruled on the substance of Trump efforts to dismantle the TPS program.

Let's be clear about what's happening: Trump gaslit voters about his abortion stance during the campaign because winning meant staying out of prison.

His administration is now pushing off abortion pill restrictions until after the midterms to try keep the House and prevent Trump being impeached
NEW: FDA asks judge to pause a lawsuit seeking to end telehealth prescriptions of abortion pill mifepristone until agency completes its unnecessary “review” of the drug.

This is NOT Trump admin defending abortion access—it’s buying time until after midterms

FYI
American households paid $12 BILLION more for natural gas between January & September than they paid a year earlier.

Instead of slashing utility bills, Trump has made them more expensive for the country's most vulnerable people.

Trump is to blame for the affordability crisis.

I am hearing that RFK Jr.’s minions are going to go after HPV vaccines. I’ve got problems with these people and now you’re going to hear about them, first from a personal perspective and then from a professional one.

Disappointing, Chuck Schumer, but based on your past inactions, I'm not surprised
“Abolish” or “defund” aren't within grasp in 2026. But where are:

- End qualified immunity
- Rewrite use-of-force so this crap isn't ruled “within policy”
- Overturn July 8 mandatory detention memo
- Reinstate TPS
- Open up detention centers, enforce humane conditions

He doesn’t even *ask* for it.
Chuck Schumer just announced demands on DHS to avoid shutdown:
1. End roving patrols, tighten rules on warrants
2. Enforce accountability & unified code of conduct for agents
3. No more masks & require bodycams

There are *already* standards on much of this.

The issue is DHS isn't following them!

Senators must vote NO on ALL DHS funding unless it:

- Ends the ICE siege of Minneapolis & other communities
- Stops warrantless arrests & home invasions
- Gives no money to lock up families
- Turns over all evidence to independent investigators.

We need an end to this danger.
