"There's basically an economy around disinformation now"

Maybe now could be the right time to start asking politicians and your organisation's social teams why they're actively assisting monetised disinformation schemes by retaining their accounts at X and doing free volunteer work by posting there
Latest commentary from me about how the design of social media platforms incentivise and fail to moderate the spread of false and misleading information about the #Bondi massacre. As usual, X is the ringleader.

Did anyone seriously think Putin wouldn’t threaten retaliation? After all, he’s invaded Ukraine. Either the EU stands up to him, or the whole European project is over. I thought the similarity between what he said and what Trump has said about Europe was pretty chilling.

Good news
Actual Good News: Labour has launched its fair funding formula for local councils. The aim is to push more cash towards deprived communities like Middlesbrough and Birmingham. And less for wealthier areas such as Kensington and the Home Counties. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Whenever I come across an anti-trans bigot who calls themself a lefty or a progressive—there are quite a few of these folks in the UK—I wonder what kinds of mental gymnastics they must perform, given the anti-trans movement is tied closely with authoritarianism, homophobia, & anti-abortion activism
meanwhile, the US attorney general also wants to categorize trans equality activists as belonging to “designated terrorist organizations”.

a leaked Justice Department memo from December 9th added “radical gender ideology” as part of its definition of “domestic terrorism”.

Again and again, the optimal position when legally threatened by Trump is to be resolute in defence and prepare for court.

You will likely not then have to go to court, as he will fold or settle.

But if you seek to settle from the off, he has got you and he will crush you.
Everyone should stand up to this bully.

Straight talking
So, Trump sues the BBC for $5Bn and puts the technology deal with the UK on hold until the US gets more concessions.
Anyone still deluding themselves about that “special relationship”? No. Just the tedious parade of simpering MAGA dickheads - led, of course, by the traitorous Farage.

Musk's Department of GOvernment Efficiency (DOGE) has been closed less than a year into Trump's Presidency, having caused more chaos than eliminated waste. Blindly copied by ReformUK, there are few better examples of how Farage's outfit is liitle other than a feeble offshoot of Trump's fading MAGA.
