Every post I've seen about Rob Reiner today is some form of this. My first memory of hearing his name was on South Park and the writers clearly hated him. Why? What was their beef? By all accounts he was a genuinely good and decent man.
Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

Can we finally all agree that "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun" myth only served to scare people into buying more guns? I have seen a zillion times more videos like this than "good guys with guns" stepping up and helping, including when the "good guys" are police. It's the guns.
Wow! This man is a hero.

Watch him wrestle the rifle from one of the Bondi Beach shooters.

Congestion pricing seems like a great example of a policy where the effects are immediately legible to the public in a way that changes their views. Before, people were unsure; after, most people see the benefits and don't want to go back (see also smoking in bars).
Particulate pollution in the air down a whopping 22% in NYC’s congestion pricing zone.

Not only are the streets less congested, but so are our lungs.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Getting annoyed listening to charter school activists lie again and again that charter schools are public schools.

They are not.

They are publicly funded private schools that siphon money away from public schools and produce no better results.

I don't think legacy media is reading the room correctly on the Epstein Files. Many of us are asking why they have ignored this story for the last decade? Why did they dismiss all of us who were concerned that Trump might be compromised? And where is their fucking contrition and apology now?

Ok congrats to VeeJay! Her ability to do very well-executed garments reminds me of Tessa Clark, I think all the top 3 designers deserved to be here and I think we can all agree that Law Roach should not be invited back as a judge because seriously wtf
The way the judges talked about Ethan's designs was insane. He made his point of view super clear and was not boring. VeeJay had interesting designs too, and I agree that the split-leg pant look was a stand-out. The fact that Heidi said she wants to wear Ethan's showcase look says it all.
Ugh Antonio's collection is not good. Ethan and VeeJay were way better. I think it's a tossup.

“15yrs ago Gov. Christie ended 4 decades of state funding for public TV, forcing them to find a new funder. The state cut $750k in funding this yr, but that was hardly the fatal blow; that came from the end of federal funds.”
