Kudos to @JohnBerman for this well-informed series of questions

One note: Sen. Cotton is wrong at end. POTUS needs affirmative authorization from Congress under the War Powers Resolution. Current ops are illegal.

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

Our position on that [28-point] plan has been - and remains - absolutely clear:

There must be no false peace.
No dictated peace.
No capitulation imposed on #Ukraine.

That would be disastrous - disastrous for Ukraine, and disastrous for Europe as well.

This is going to provoke a lot of replies (to which I'm not going to respond) about how "the same people said Roe wouldn't be overruled," and "the same people said they wouldn't give Trump immunity."

Leaving aside that that *wasn't* me, there's still lots of evidence for this case being different.

IMO Trump will send the US military to Ukraine to act as peacekeepers, against Ukraine and Europe’s wishes, to protect the Russians in the disputed territories.

A kind of proxy war with Europe. And a US Reich. Watch.

A very frustrated Judge Breyer says "I'm not asking if there's violence, I'm asking for evidence that the state is unable or unwilling to deal with the violence?" DOJ says the molotov cocktail incident needed help. Breyer says you didn't send the guard there, so your claim rings hollow. END/

Listening to the CA NG hearing: Judge Breyer in CA just asked the government for evidence that the state of California is unable or unwilling to assist the federal officers. The DOJ says yes, on June 6th there were "riots." Breyer says what about today? DOJ says one guy threw molotov cocktails. 1/

Like, Judge Breyer giving an aside about pinochle is one of those moments where I'm like, "Wait, is this really not Justice Breyer?"
It is difficult to explain how weird it is to listen to Charles Breyer and realize how similar he sounds, acts, and discusses matters like his older brother, Stephen Breyer.

DOJ argues that, if the National Guard is properly federalized at any point, any decision to extend it is unreviewable.

Breyer: “Like diamonds, it’s forever. That’s the position of the federal government.”

Although DOJ pushes back on that as a fact, they acknowledge that is their legal argument.
