This is like Uncut Gems if Adam Sandler sold Italian ice instead
My short film Cherry-Colored Funk is available online today. They said you couldn't make an award winning film about a Chinese guy who becomes Italian...well...😏

Anyway, very proud of the film and everyone who worked on it. Thank you for all the support!!

If bread was scarce and $40, you would subsidize wheat farmers and pay bakers to bake it. You wouldn't say that "these BOMBS (Bread on My Bakery Shelves) are failing to engage with deeper reforms of the carceral-colonial wheat exploitation system". But when homes are $2 million they do say that.

There is an emerging possibility of AI discourse being briefly supplanted by prediction market discourse. And it will be worse. And it will be worse.

If the only goal of technological progress is to remove pain and friction, you will eventually have nothing left, because life is suffering. We must have better goals in mind.

Proving your data existed before a point in time (aka trusted timestamping) is now easier than ever before! Thanks Stanford, this is the most accessible way I've seen of doing this.

sneak peek of a little atproto app i’ve been working on. it’s called sidetrail

it is for sharing “trails”. a trail is a sequence of stops where you do, learn, or think. a trail feels personal — it is whatever “worked for you”

ATProto is specifically designed against this, but it seems unavoidable due to moderation. I guess it still does better in the general case?
While I'm grateful tools like this exist, to me this is still an unacceptable experience. We can do better than the disconnected posts, profiles only visible on certain sites, inability to do global search, and inaccurate like/follow counts that are tolerated on other decentralized networks. 6/11
