Black trans people have played vital roles in queer liberation history. Icons like Marsha P. Johnson and Stormé DeLarverie helped spark the Stonewall uprising a turning point in LGBTQ+ activism. Their legacy lives on in the organizations that continue to advocate for safety, dignity, and rights.

"Trans healthcare is healthcare" disappeared one day in 2020 and hasn't been seen since.
I can't help but notice that as trans acceptance backslides that casual allyship amonst cis people, even those that claim allyship loudly, is down noticeably.

A few years ago, cis strangers would defend my pronouns, now it's back to mostly close friends, mostly queer people.

It's a stressful day with trans sports bans at the Supreme Court, but we have counterprogramming in the form of a lovely story about trans people playing games with little painted figurines.

Wargaming, a traditionally masculine-coded hobby, has, in recent years, become a home to many trans and queer players.

This article is a must-read. It matches my own experience of seeing conservative judges go from often siding with trans plaintiffs prior to 2021 to being outwardly hostile. Judges don't live in a hermetically sealed chamber. They absorbed anti-trans propaganda.

How the Conservative Movement’s Anti-Trans Crusade Brought the Supreme Court to Heel
Six years ago, the Court issued a landmark decision protecting the civil rights of trans people. Republicans set about making sure that that would never happen again.

McBride: Look, people are clutching their pearls at this guy yelling something at the president. They are more offended by a worker standing up to the president and calling him out for his hypocrisy than they are by the president trying to cover up for a human trafficking ring

Nonprofits led by Black trans people receive a fraction of philanthropic funding compared to larger LGBTQ+ or racial justice groups. This makes sustaining programs, paying staff livable wages, and scaling impact harder.

Across movements for racial justice and LGBTQ+ rights, Black trans and gender-diverse people have long been leaders from Stonewall to community care efforts today. Yet the very communities that contribute so much often receive the least support.
