It’s time for folks at DoD and in the IC to start lawyering up.

Today, I appreciated Robert's Rules of Order for the first time. When they are disregarded by the person running the meeting in order to steamroll discourse they don't want to hear, it's absolutely infuriating.

It dovetailed with the freakout over the unlawful orders video, but also it is just qualitatively worse. It's absolutely a crime under all circumstances, even against a real enemy in a real war. And that has deep historical roots as *the* most notorious clear-cut war crime you can commit at sea.
Does anyone have a robust theory as to why the recent reporting on follow on strikes has galvanized this response and not you know the murders they were in the first order?
Note that both of the joint Republican-Democrat Statements from the Senate and House Armed Services Committees refer to the 'Department of Defense' - not the 'Department of War' - in their statements promising oversight of Pete Hegseth's actions.

I used to enjoy Black Friday. There was excitement in finding a deal and getting up at the buttcrack of dawn to snag it (followed by breakfast at IHOP).
Now that Black Friday is dragged out for days, there are few real deals worth lining up for. There's no excitement left. Good work, capitalism.

A lot of our research uses text-based presentation of information.
Most of what people use on social media is video-based.
I suspect more people watch news than read papers.
Maybe we should consider this?
