I really appreciate that @pbsnews.org ended the interview with this graphic.

It captures, in the simplest and starkest terms, the brutal arithmetic driving this country's homelessness catastrophe.

Mourning the loss of Cincinnati fight/stage violence director Jonn Baca today. Baca was an incredible human and collaborator, generous with his time, expertise, and friendship.

I just found my 2012 notes on how to revise my stage adaptation of A.J. Raffles: Amateur Cracksman.

Guess I need to do that now.

Man remember when that "Deciding To Win" manifesto came out a month or two back that people like the Pod Save America hosts and David Axelrod and James Carville signed off on that said M4A was an unpopular nonstarter that should be jettisoned?

none of those people should work again
🚨NEW: A new poll Americans’ support for Medicare For All has intensified to the point where the old attacks may no longer work.

As both parties legislate criticism of socialism, there has been a 50-point shift on a key question in just 6 years.

This is YUGE.

"a single person of this demographic may have committed a crime, therefore we must punish the entire demographic" is a policy response you may recognize from fascist governments dedicated to ethnic cleansing elsewhere.
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

There is a play I really wanted to see, and intended to see this weekend. But then I discovered it is dark all this week for Thanksgiving, and I will be out of town for the final week of performances.

We maintained a copper landline for a long time for emergency purposes, but eventually AT&T's neglect of the infrastructure made it untenable:

The line would go out whenever it rained!

Even when it worked, it would have such a loud buzz as to be unusable!

And it cost $100+ a month!

Update: in the spirit of accuracy, I should note that the title has been changed to Fully Autonomous: A Non-Fungible Revenge Comedy.

It's got revenge AND jokes!
Today I wrote the first 10 pages of my new play Fully Autonomous: A Non-Fungible Revenge Tragedy.

Excited to finish my non-fungible trilogy, even if no one will ever produce it!

You can read the first two installments at the @newplayexchange.bsky.social .

"Worse, the reason the pitch had been appealing to me to begin with was likely because a large language model somewhere was remixing my own prompt asking for stories where 'health and money collide,' flattering me by sending me back what I wanted to hear."
Fascinating read on how a suspicious pitch highlighted a growing problem in freelance journalism: A flood of generative AI that even prestige publications don't catch, complete with fabricated quotes, from scammers who see opportunity in a field so many real humans are struggling to survive in.
Investigating a Possible Scammer in Journalism’s AI Era | The Local
A suspicious pitch from a freelancer led editor Nicholas Hune-Brown to dig into their past work. By the end, four publications, including The Guardian and Dwell, had removed articles from their sites.
