Chances are I'll delete this later, but gdi I'm mad and want to say it. I can't stand to see the company that owns my hyperfixations sink this low.

People of Hollywood, it might be time for an old fashioned revolution.

The more I read about what's going on at Paramount, the more I think we need to go French on these fuckers. And I mean it. Ellison and everyone he's employed need to be removed by force. This behavior cannot go unpunished. We gotta start forming mobs and storming these corrupted strongholds.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

Here's the thing, Ellison: Netflix offered mostly on-hand cash provided to them by legit American banks, not Saudi blood money.

Also, Zaslav used to be a lawyer, so he's likely prepared for whatever dirty tricks you may pull.

Take the L already.
Paramount is now reportedly looking to launch a hostile bid for Warner Bros

They feel their $30 a share all-cash offer is higher than what Netflix offered — in terms of cash, stock and the value of the cable business spinoff

Too late. Netflix already won.

Just fuck off, Skydance. Just go ahead and rot in your AI whitewashing filth until Paramount is eventually saved by Universal in like 4-5 years.

I guarantee half the politicians bitching about the idea of Netflix owning WB wouldn't be saying shit if Paramount was the winner.

What really sucks for me about Paramount and how they are now is I've been wanting to get into Star Trek for a while now, and 2026 is meant to be their 60th anniversary.

If the year-long celebration ends up being shit, I don't know what to with myself about it.

I'll only say this about the Warner Bros. Netlfix merger:

Yes, mergers are bad. You'll only have to see how that went with ITV in the UK in 1991.
But, if this means physical media releases of Netflix stuff like KPop Demon Hunters, Inside Job and Maya & the Three, I'm all for it

Hopefully certain regulations that won't have negative effects and more to keep things on a leash. Something close to an antitrust law at least.
The Directors Guild of America plans to meet with Netflix to discuss their significant concerns about the streamer’s acquisition of Warner Bros.

James Gunn has a message for the DC fandom

"If you want to see something from a filmmaker, consider phrasing it as 'I' as opposed to 'we' .. Your personal desire is meaningful .. but when you frame your personal desire as a universal one, it rings false and becomes forgettable. Own what you want!"

Considering Warner Bros.' history of being like a cursed relic, I'm gonna wait 3-5 years to see the result of this deal. If they end up being the same as AT&T, AOL and Discovery by that time, we may witness the total downfall of Netflix and streaming as we know it.

Netflix has desperately needed a new revenue stream. People will only pay so much for a streaming service. Tanking theatrical releases would be lighting money on fire.

Seeing a lot of (understandable) panicking about what the Netflix/WB deal is gonna do to theaters. But look at what Superman, Sinners, and Weapons made in theaters this year. Then remember that Netflix has nowhere left to go in terms of streaming market share. I think the theater model will be fine.

That Netflix won means that Zaslav wants a deal that has WB/HBO Max go to Netflix while the Linear networks still get spun off into their own thing.
Remember, Paramount wants to nix the split and just buy them both.
Zaslav knows the better deal is one where the split happens.
Netflix has made the highest bid to buy Warner Bros so far.
