Elsie's second gotcha anniversary. Very different dog from the one we picked up from Dog's Trust Shrewsbury two years ago, having put on 6kg, turned foxy red, learned to bark and hate squirrels, and perfected looking cute.

##BloodyWildlife it's mating season for foxes so last night as we went out for last wee, they were barking just the other side of the hedge. 3.30am Elsie woke us, barking maniacally at them. This morning the first thing that greeted us on stepping out the back door was an overpowering reek of fox.

Been out doing a bit in the garden to make the most of the dry occasionally sunny weather and listened to Upon a White Horse by Peter Ross on iplayer about him visiting the ancient places of the British Isles. Lovely gentle listening, reminded me of reading Benjamin Myers.

I've seen a few "gift" candles and the like this year incorporating cashmere on the list of atmospheric scents. Since cashmere comes from goats, I can only assume these designery types have never been anywhere near a goat let alone got a lung full of it's "atmospheric scent". 0/10 would not buy.

This is why whenever anyone mentions voice activation I say eleven and yes, I get funny looks.

Suspect the depositing of this in the flower bed next to the house is why Elsie woke me at 4am on Monday morning. At least the hunting looks successful and they're helping keep the rodent population down #BloodyWildlife

Dog with a scientifically accurate clock in her head is getting stroppy that we haven't gone out into the garden yet to play. It's raining eleventy million out there., I'm busy putting towels on the floor and getting out her fleece drying coat but I'm still going to need to clean many times today.

I do not know this, and I feel it is important to share
this is potentially TMI but also *v useful information* so: did you know that (in the UK) if you start to feel you're getting a UTI on Saturday evening you can do an online form with eg Boots and be picking up your antibiotics by 10am on Sunday morning? and then start to feel better by 11am?

Yeah, I mean, I'm critical of any video nowadays that is trying to elicit an emotional response, especially when it's asking for subs at the end. It's weird that all the people seem to end up with the dog they want. And shelters are overflowing, where are the rooms full of people wanting to adopt?

Elsie spark out after only an hour in the garden this morning. Yesterday was a big day and I think it's worn her out 👍 There was play, a walk with D, horses, cafe stop, play, out in heavy horizontal rain and wind in the dark, library wait and tracking the fox to a big dump of poo at bedtime.
