Generally floundering. Yogi, knitter, walker, sci fi nerd, occasionally sweary, Scottish, retired engineer, frequent user of the block button, rehomed Elsie the German Shepherd. She/her
Suspect the depositing of this in the flower bed next to the house is why Elsie woke me at 4am on Monday morning. At least the hunting looks successful and they're helping keep the rodent population down #BloodyWildlife

Purely by chance due to other things today we managed a fairly dry walk, but it got dark early due to the clouds and we needed all our flashy lights on. No avoiding it with a big dog, but I actually feel better for it 😃

#BloodyWildlife thanks to the mice I will be making apple crumble again

Elsie spark out after only an hour in the garden this morning. Yesterday was a big day and I think it's worn her out 👍 There was play, a walk with D, horses, cafe stop, play, out in heavy horizontal rain and wind in the dark, library wait and tracking the fox to a big dump of poo at bedtime.

Elsie beginning to think those promises they made her at the rehoming centre about going to a wonderful new life might not be as legit as they first seemed

Elsie wishes to discuss the portion size in her bowl of late and refutes the idea that she is a Fat Lass.

Bastard mice have nibbled a tiny bit out of 7 apples in the store so I want to process them into the freezer rather than let them rot. This means making space in the freezer, so this afternoon I made 16 jars of blackcurrant jam. Just leaves 1kg each of blackcurrants gooseberries and rasps in there.

On todays dog walk we cut down the same ginnel that produced the tandoori chicken bone that led to my small injury last week. After much, much searching, Elsie was disappointed not to find another, I was relieved and all my fingers are intact.

A story with three protagonists, me, Elsie and a tandoori chicken bone. Handler error!

That's me boosted, so in the spirit of self care and keeping my strength up, I had to buy these. It's such a shame they come in a pack of four, whatever will I do with the other three 🙄
Alt a pack of M&S choctastic brownies.

Anyway, time to stop dicking about on here and etc down on my hands and knees with these bad boys. It's a pet owner thing.

Elsie's second gotcha anniversary. Very different dog from the one we picked up from Dog's Trust Shrewsbury two years ago, having put on 6kg, turned foxy red, learned to bark and hate squirrels, and perfected looking cute.

The foxes visit our garden and have been leaving poop, recently with very visible kernels/seeds in that I can't identify, so this morning I cleaned some off and stuck them in a pot. Should know what they are in 2 to 5 years. Six year old me would be proud 😁 #science #wildlife

A friend very proudly gave me a jar of her crabapple jelly, which I smiled and said all the right words over but yes, it's inedible thanks to the choice of jar. Such a shame, but the whole kitchen now smells of garlic.

We had a guide dogs stall at a craft fair on Saturday. We didn't make a huge amount of money, but I think between the six of us we spent more than we took 😆😆. I got some knitting done, there was a lot of crochet going on, and I bought a knitted ear warmer. Isn't it lovely #sheep #knitting 🧶
