Our media and politicians need to stop treating Twitter like it's "engaging with ordinary people". It's not, it's engaging with a small proportion of the population, mostly each other, all being stewed in the white supremacist propaganda of its owner.

Shocking revelation from the News Letter: Belfast is secretly run by a shadowy cabal of… three Green councillors. Since our cover is blown, we may as well release part of the master plan.

"hey guys we run a deeply unpopular government and people are really struggling to get by, what should we do"

"how about banning that Top Gear video where they make cars that can cross the Channel"
I'd hate to be a boat owner after this passes.

Imagine all the information that could be be useful for your navigation but which would ALSO be potentially useful to those guiding small boats across the Channel.

Will the Shipping Forecast cease broadcasting? That, after all, makes crossings easier.

This is genuinely massive, like earth-shakingly big in terms of pushing back the anti-trans exclusion drive.

The anti-trans movement have lost a case they didn't expect to lose and really couldn't afford to.

I can't imagine them not appealing (near infinite money) but now the precedent exists.
BREAKING: Employee who demand a trans-exclusive toilet policy loses employment tribunal. All claims, direct and indirect discrimination, harassment, and 1992 Regs, dismissed.

Feel very hollow reading this. There are going to be wee girls accross the UK told that some of their friends can't join guides with them all because JKR and FWS decided that their friends were a danger to them based on 1950s conservatism.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

I was on the sidelines of a non jury court case recently and the judge clearly had an inherent bias in favour of one person in particular and got everything wrong. Ruled in favour of the aggressor and basically called everyone else who gave honest evidence liars. It was eye opening.

If anyone is attending tomorrow's IPSC march in Belfast, be aware that fash types are openly planning some kind of confrontation.
If someone sticks a camera in your face, do not engage.
If you see instigators within the march/rally, point them out to stewards.
Keep yourself and your comrades safe.

JK Rowling got a full *decade* of press as a martyr for being "cancelled" (declared passe by people online) and meanwhile nobody considers it very interesting that a prominent left wing author is basically banned from entering or publishing in the United Kingdom for her politics
so this is like, one of the biggest free speech infringements by a western democracy in our lifetimes right?

Today, I saw a driver overtake a stopped bus and plough through a pedestrian crossing. He beeped three times as he sped though. The beeping was to warn people because, as he had overtaken a bus, he had zero visibility of who was about to step out onto the crossing.

But sure, more hi-vis, everyone
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

The 50 richest families now control more wealth than half the UK population, while Labour refuses to tax the rich or tackle runaway inequality.

“Cost of living” is just a slogan for a government still protecting power and privilege.

There is no way the two child cap would have been removed if it had not been for the Green party surging in the polls.
If, like me, you think that this is nowhere near enough, then all the more reason to #VoteGreen and join.greenparty.org.uk
Alongside many campaigners, the Green Party have absolutely dragged the Labour Government to finally end the child cap.

Labour politicians disgracefully defended it for far too long.

This shows why the Green Party membership rising and rising matters.

A tax on the top 1%'s wealth could raise at least £70 billion for our public services.
