I’m tired and don’t know what to put here. I like tv, specifically Schitt’s Creek, OFMD, Ted Lasso, Yellowjackets, and Succession, but I kind of watch everything. Born in 1985.

Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Finally managed to see Return of the King. Going to the LOTR trilogy with my niece was very fun, and I am so glad it’s over now. The next movie I am forcing her to see is Titanic.

Catherine O’Hara didn’t steal scenes she just showed up and ownership automatically defaulted to her

i once bought a new blazer for a schitts creek panel, and when i walked into the green room, catherine o'hara complimented me on it, and also noted that i had forgotten to cut all the threads off the vents.

and then she leaned in and said, "it's because you're going to return it, isn't it"

In all seriousness, I am so sad, and I wish the internet was wrong about this one.

Well I’m glad my sister told me, and I didn’t have to read it online. I’m so bummed. This is awful.

Look, I know everything is awful, but people who don’t normally pay attention are paying attention, and that is a good thing. There’s this ostentatious rich lady I follow (gawk at) on Instagram, and she has been posting about ICE. I cannot explain to you how out of pocket this is for her.

Every time pple think of saying, “why aren’t more publications covering [topic xyz],“ please don’t. This is why. been in media for 35 years & rich assholes destroyed it. media of past no longer exists. We are trying. Subscribe. But let go of the idea of “media” from 10-20-30 years ago. That’s gone.

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

I stepped outside and oh my god what the fuck no. (12° feels like -7°) I was already committed to not leaving the house this weekend, but now I am very committed.

Dropped my glasses under the bed just now, and it’s going to be a pain in the ass to retrieve them. Shall I find out if I can make it through the rest of the evening without them?
