Chris Rea is about parents for me, too. Specifically my Mum singing Fool If You Think It’s Over and getting the words hopelessly wrong. I was years older before I properly listened to it and wondered if she was actually trying to tell me something.

RIP Chris Rea. Thanks to my parents having about three music cassettes between them, I always associate this song with - ironically enough - driving away from home for Christmas, somewhere around Wetherby on the A1(M), on the way to my gran’s house.

Okay, but this was a recording studio in the 1970s, my sense is that “snow” is not “snow” here, and the “snow man” is another kind of man who “puts a great big smile on somebody’s face” with what it is that he brings.
"The snow man doesn’t bring the snow. The snow man is a product of the snow. Roy Wood and Wizzard are thinking of rain man."
Every dumb thought I have ever had about Christmas songs

This logo really works if you think about the typefaces left from right. This thing you think is normal and modern? Punchline, it's a Nazi.

Your usual reminder that the UCKG is an extraordinarily shady outfit. It is not clear what the money they collect is for or where it goes. They are collecting all over London today. Avoid.

I know this is screaming into the void, but will there *ever* be a reckoning for Johnson? I can’t think of another man whose hands are so clearly all over such a country-wrecking sequence of events - and he’s just going to walk away from it? The judgement of history is too long a wait.
