It’s not about who’s been harder done by, students are under huge pressure. This is a specific issue around maladministration in which ombudsman found in their favour. If we don’t act on their findings there is no point having one & when others have been affected they will also not be compensated

The all but universally hostile response to this has cheered me right up.
I’ve joined over 100 MPs calling on the Government to finally do the right thing for WASPI women. Women born in the 1950s were harmed by pension changes made without proper notice. Despite the Ombudsman’s findings, ministers are still delaying fair compensation.

If there is a WW3 US v Europe and we do end up taking the American side, Europe will invade and presumably defeat us pretty quickly and then we're back in Europe again. I mean it's not ideal but it IS a solution to Brexit – might lose some Reformers fighting on the beaches in the process too…

Just take the bulk of the DfT budget and hand it to the mayoral regions. Take Whitehall out of the equation completely - it's failed, keeps failing and will carry on failing in future.

The government could change millions of lives for the better, and lift hundreds of thousands out of poverty, by either funding northern transit projects or giving combined authorities the power to do it themselves. That they do neither, despite piles of evidence that it would work, is tragic.
