Seeing lots of great posts crossing my feed. If you are a bibliophile, a writer, a gardener, a photographer, or love MN, Scotland or ancient history, give a shout!
I'm currently balancing writing and caregiving and mental health recovery. Always looking for smart, funny people to connect with. 💙
This is what I said.
Watching the press conference in D.C. is frustrating. My point is and will continue to be that this should never have happened. Because the National Guard should never have been ordered to walk the streets of this city! Trump’s policy is the problem!!!

Actually bitch, it's the police that separate civilized society from a barbaric one. These Guardsmen should be at home eating Thanksgiving dinner and preparing for drill this weekend to protect this nation from something like a invasion of the Chinese military.

I feel for these Guardsmen and their families, how horrifying.
But they should never have been there.
This is what happens when you amp up the rhetoric, and you have a President and DoD Sec who are making terroristic threats.
National Guard caught in the middle.

I have my great grandma's (lots of lard!), and my grandma's! Stained, clippings tucked in, and yes, a rubber band.
Family cookbooks, filled with handwritten notes, sometimes held together with rubber bands, tell the story of generations of homemakers. They are irreplaceable treasures.

In this year of our lord 2025, after Kimmel and Pride and DEI debacles, I still see people planning Disney vacations.

Have they been well and truly brainwashed?

Look. I loved Harry Potter. I mean, Ravenclaw, midnight releases, multiple movie showings loved. But I let it go due to actions of JKR.

Pointing an assault rifle into a crowd of protesters? Holy mackerel. That is straight up loony.
Notice how the unmasked dude just casually lowers the gun, like he does it every day.
Good thing someone with some sense was there, I guess?
Hard to tell who's who, but Mr. Ass is likely ICE. Cops local.
