And this I think is key, the A-10 can carry the MALD and fire it from stand off range. This missile is designed to create decoys and confuse air defenses so an enemy waste their AD capability on "nothing important". Leaving them wide open to strike. That alone could decide Crimea.
USAF A-10C Thunderbolt II pilots practice MALD employment mission
The US Air Force’s (USAF) pilots have conducted an integrated strike mission to showcase A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft’s capability to employ Air Decoy Missile (ADM)-160 Miniature Air Launched Decoys ...

This isn't what I was taught as a child. This was just a few months ago.

Aside from possible front line use, the A-10 would excel in two areas: 1. Busting drones. There would be no better platform. They need a slow jet, loaded with targeting systems that can take a beating. 2. Shooting "dummy missiles" into Russian territory to get AD to waste missiles. F-16 then hits.

Hypothetical Ukrainian A-10s. Beautiful. My sister is a fighter pilot, I'm former SOF. We have VERY different opinions about A-10s and my opinion is really the only one that actually matters. Why? Because I depended on this machine and she never has. Ukraine needs these warbirds. Slow and lethal!

And Eastern ATL does mean coasts of Spain, France, Ireland, etc... We need E-3/P-3s patrolling those skies, with Patriot batts and fighters capable of scrambling to intercept inbound missle threats fired from aircraft/ships. NATO Navy vessels can deal with a response after defense ops at rest.

In order for Europe to be invaded to the point Germany would need a big tank army is going to require a lot of missiles wiping out a lot of defenses. That's the only way Russia gets into Europe. The key is to defend against that threat before missiles can do damage. Fund missile defense in east.

Defending Europe from its only serious threat isn't a "one size fits all" solution. Threats are not evenly distributed and as such neither should be defense spending allocations. The main threats are missiles and drones. NATO needs to spend money there. Germany prob doesn't need big tank army.

Trump 5% GDP Nato "rule" is simplistic and misguided (or just dumb). I think NATO would be well defended with 3% GDP, but 0.5% of all NATO members' GDP should be directed to Baltics, Eastern Flank and Eastern Atlantic because Estonia's 3% doesn't look like Germany's 3% and that's where threat is.

Let's not treat Idaho like it's some distant far away land. These F15s could be over any of our homes in minutes to hours.

You know that majority of the code that is now the Internet is generated by AI, right? Do you use the Internet? AI is built directly into Photoshop these days as well. Photoshop has been the gold standard for photo editing for 30 years. You've lost your fight, mate.

There's legal dissent and illegal dissent. We're talking about the latter and you're trying to blur the lines because you're either ignorant, an asshole or a troll. Pick one.
