Great #gamedev strategy (also #programming & live service games) for time management, feature implementation, and how to run a business: plan for failure.

Surprise failure → your day/week/month/project/business is ruined.

Safety net saves your ass and you come out swinging → best feeling ever.
And it's on sale on steam for only $8, seems an absolute steal right now! I even started buying it for friends.

Finished Dungeons of Hinterberg last night, and I didn't realize it was what I needed. Between the Zelda-like dungeons, the Persona-like social system and the clever take on small towns and tourism, I didn't want the vacation to end. I'm actually sad it's over. Thank you @microbirdgames.bsky.social

TIL, #linux has a couple cli #downloader options that are faster than wget like Axel. Axel wasn't that much faster than #wget for me, so then I found aria2; much more powerful and reliable, and faster too: github.com/aria2/aria2

And it's available in Linux software repos like Debian. Niice.
GitHub - aria2/aria2: aria2 is a lightweight multi-protocol & multi-source, cross platform download utility operated in command-line. It supports HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, BitTorrent and Metalink.

Teen Vogue did some terrific work. Great story here on Teen Vogue and how the Vogue/Conde Nast bosses seem like the "liberal" types who have been eager to use Trump's rise as a pretext to silence progressives/leftists they disagree with. www.cjr.org/feature/the-...

TurboTax makers Intuit have lobbied the government for years to block free public tax-filing.

Now Trump has terminated the free IRS Direct File program, nearly a year after Intuit gave his inauguration $1M.

The company. The people who made the decisions. All of them.

They got away with killing hundreds for the sake of a few cents per share of increased earnings. 🤬

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.
