We have a new paper in Science today on how malicious AI swarms can threaten democracy.

AI systems can already coordinate autonomously, infiltrate communities, and fabricate social consensus.

Golden Days, a #Manitoba #Music #Mixtape

I listened to 250 locally released tracks from 2025 over the holidays and put together 3 playlists.

This one's a mix of 21 indie, folky, jazzy, or soulful tunes from MB musicians with some quiet contemplation at the end:

Can't stop listening to the new Leith Ross album.

Not within my usual genre pool, but the music and lyrics are so compelling. My favourite tracks are "Grieving" (of course!) and "(I Can See) The Future".

For me, December is crazy inspiring.

The past few Decembers I've been exploring the 300ish #Manitoban musical acts that released music in the past year.

So much talent here. I'll be posting currated playlists of my fav new MB music 'round year end.

At $65 dollars/night the yurts are still such a steal.

Rent a yurt in a Manitoba Provincial Park this summer!

I'm partial to the Nutimik ones, but there are many lovely options!

@grittycitywpg.bsky.social Thanks for the heads up on the new Buck album in your newsletter! It's incredible. I hadn't really kept up with his music beyond the 00s. There was a time in the early 00s where it felt like he was at the Pyramid every other month. So many good shows.
