MD-08, Raskin - As the ranking member of the judiciary, Raskin’s voice counts for a lot. We spoke directly with his chief of staff. The immediate feedback was that our article on treason was "very helpful framing."

My contribution here is that a lot of people can't/won't believe that anything out of the ordinary is happening and this group is more important to far right power than the far right minority. Idk how to break through to these people, but kumbaya with fascists is the exact opposite.

tl;dr - Congress has power and they should use it.
We don't put powers in an elected legislature because they're necessarily all that prone to getting things right. There is value if nothing else in that a few hundred people can't be as erratic, can't produce such destructive uncertainty, as one illiterate geriatric and his maladjusted consigliere.
An absolute clown show.
Avoiding chaos like this is one of the many reasons a for *not* having EOs be the normal method of legislating or regulating. You really want more careful review than “Steve Miller doodled it on a napkin and Trump signed it with a sharpie.”

This vote should get lot more attention given what happened just this week in targeting and killing of 11 people on a boat w US arm forces, the branding shenanigans around DoD and what Trump is about to do to Chicago and other cities.
Trump is sending natl guard in cities, arm forces are killing people in the carrabean w/ questionable legal authority yet almost every Sen Dem leader incl. Schumer, Durbin, Murray, Klobuchar voted to advance a defense spending bill yesterday.
