The Trump admin already failed to get an arrest warrant on him—magistrate judge refused so DOJ went to appeals court, prompting that letter from the chief district judge torching the DOJ, and appeals court denied too—so God knows what this new one is, or if they even bothered to get a warrant.
Don was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles.

That is so fucking powerful and so fucking beautiful.

Agreed.
Outside of Mps, it feels a lot like 2020, like the world is turning upside down and something big is about to happen. It does seem like Stephen Miller is provoking Mps again so they can have their Reichstag fire, blaming the Dems and Somalian immigrants for what is coming next.

i think powell's response here is a demonstration of the folly of the idea that democratic accountability requires presidential control. what if the president is not acting in the public interest? you want independent agencies to be able to push back and pursue their *congressional mandate*
Powell, showing more guts than almost any GOP legislators:

"The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Fed setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the President."

Since Antifa isn’t really an “organization”, this is just carte blanche to arbitrarily declare people terrorists.
BREAKING: Trump says he is designating “Antifa” as a “major terrorist organization.”

Such a step being taken this way would be concerning enough, given what it actually is, but, given that Trump sees “Antifa” hiding in every corner of opposition, this could be an extremely alarming escalation.
