can't speak for anyone else but this has not been my experience at all. you tell the machine to do something, it does something which approximates that, and then you figure out places where you or it fucked up until the product improves

This nails the phenomenon I've been trying to put into words. It's a way for the queasy among us to talk about what's really wrong with the country, but filtered through a layer of abstraction so no one gets too uncomfy.
Also like talking about Democratic messaging is a weird kind of self soothing exercise, so people don't have to deal with the horrors of Trump, you can talk about the horrors but not directly and only through the lens of how an imaginary Democrat is talking about them.

Yeah, how about we take all the furious energy we've been directing toward Democrats for not removing Trump from office through magic and start directing it at the news media, who actually demonstrably CAN remove Trump from office through magic.

A big part of why we are at where we are is that much of the world, the press, foreign leaders, a big hunk of US voters, simply refused to believe it when Democrats said Trump would be as bad as he is.

I spent all of 2024 watching this site in particular scream at Biden & then Harris that it was tantamount to blackmail to emphasize Trump being a fascist/threat to democracy, that they had to "give ppl something to vote for besides just being anti-Trump" & that voters cared more about prices anyways

These people's biggest fear is not Schumer and Jeffries screwing things up, it's having Democrats win back the majority in both houses.
To them, when Democrats are successful, it means their ideologically pure candidates can't win.
They need to hamstring Dems somehow and at every chance they get.
