not trying to write a thinkpiece or anything, but this is basically all I did all four years of college—read a book per week in each history or lit class (so, for me, that often meant 4-5 books/week), participate in a 2- or 3-hour seminar once a week, and write longass research papers on my own time
Important update from two months into my “experiment” (lol) assigning college juniors and seniors to read whole physical books and then having a seminar where they use the physical book and physical notebooks and their ideas and questions to fill three hours of class time:

This seems like an odd strategy. You still have a cunt boss, but now they are bitter and have tons of time on their hands to make your work life miserable. Maybe reporting them to someone else in HR would have gotten them fired and out of your hair.
Our good boss got moved to another branch and replaced with a cunt. After 6 months we found out he was having an affair with one of the women in HR. A group of us got together and sent an anonymous message to his spouse. His marriage collapsed and he lost access to his kids.
