I slept on it and feel more confident in saying this: RE4 Remake is a very good game but I think a big part of why it's good is because it's RE4 again down to the bone.
85% of this game is identical to the original and what has been changed feels more like sidegrades to me.

Oh hey on the subject of doing more with less: Control has one of the most compelling Lovecraftian entities ever and it's literally an upside down pyramid with some vignetting.
Devs really need to learn from the past to maximize replay value instead of simply making a game a bazillion hours long and pretending raw hour count makes a worthwhile replay experience.
RE2 is like 3 hrs long but has tons of replay value due to the A/B scenarios.

Thinking about Heavy Rain for some reason. David Cage sure was lucky he made games in a time when the mainstream games industry avoided adventure games cause yo would Heavy Rain's graphics and mo cap would not matter for shit if it had to compete with a Lucas Arts adventure game.
