@nytimes.com You fail us everyday. How pathetic.
Journalism fail: There's not a word in this NYT story about how Trump's fed nominee is the son in lawEstee Lauder zillionaire, Ronald Lauder. GOP donor and the guy pushing Trump to take Greenland. 36 paragraphs & not a word about the politics involved here. 1/

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

Terrific analysis of media. Spot on.
“Democratic politicians and business & technocratic elites should be shamed and humiliated by how normal people have met this moment while most Democrats pretended it was business as usual and many elites openly curried favor with the regime instead of resisting.”

This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Democrats need to strongly and uncompromisingly demand that Trump is removed from office for illegally starting a war for oil that benefits no one.
January 3, 2026 at 5:11 PM
@peterbakernyt.bsky.social Right? You agree?
Whatever happens now, we absolutely cannot allow Trump's refusal to seek Congressional authorization for what appears to be a large scale military attack on another country vanish from the media discussion, which already appears to be happening.

Still mind-blowing that a top admin official was revealed to have taken $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from people looking for government favors, the reaction of the administration was "Whatever losers, this is how it works now" and bigshot news media said "If you say so, we'll forget about it"
Border czar Tom Homan didn't receive a normal background check for his role while his bribery probe was still ongoing:

Justice officials felt sure Homan would not be able to obtain a security clearance based on the evidence gathered. It remains unclear how Homan was eventually granted clearance.

@peterbakernyt.bsky.social Hey - you're looking into this. Right?
The first time I searched Trump, there were over 900 records found.

I also confirmed there are now 332.

The grift continues!
The New York Times investigated 346 people who donated at least $250,000 to Trump and found that more than half of them (197) have received pardons, jobs, government contracts, special treatment, or favors.
Hundreds of Big Post-Election Donors Have Benefited From Trump’s Return to Office
Well into his second term, the president and his allies have continued aggressively raising money. Many donors have interests before his administration, The Times found.

Important to fact check Sen Paul: this is NOT a both sides issue that suddenly bubbled up. Trump ordered Texas Republicans to redraw its maps & they complied. Trump has since bullied other red states to do the same. Only IN has said no so far. Yes, CA is doing it but only after voters approved.
Rand Paul on mid-decade redistricting: "I think it's gonna lead to more civic tension & possibly more violence in our country. Think about it: if 35% of Texas is solidly Democrat & they have 0 representation, how does that make Democrats feel? I think it makes them feel they're not represented"

Donald Trump spent last night having some bizarre social media fever dream. It’s long past time for the president's mental fitness to be a sustained front-page story. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/it-s-time-...
It’s time to talk about Donald Trump’s health (again)
The most consequential topic in the world is the simple question: Is the President mentally fit to serve?

It’s all about optics, nothing about substance.
Duffy: "Trump talks about the golden age of transportation. But the golden age in transportation truly begins with you ... People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly ... so we want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season: Help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

Guess who that will be?
America putting most of its eggs in the generative AI basket, China going hard into green tech. When history looks back on this period, someone is going to look awfully stupid.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.
