Because there are no residual payments on videogames, many actors rely on convention appearances as a replacement income.

Now imagine any developer actively trying to use AI VO to save money wanting to offer something like that.

If there is anything positive about this debacle, it's the massive wave of devs who have come out in response to this to say "actually we use human artists and always will".

I’ll reiterate why it doesn’t matter if the actors involved “agreed to it”:
- Actors generally want to actually work, not just be in things
- Dredging their voices means they won’t get to come back for repeat work
- The finished work still sounds monotone and unmemorable
Human actors only.

If your game has voice acting, then working with the voice actors is half of your writing process. It's not complete until you've heard it interpreted and reimagined by a voice actor. And they always reimagine it in ways that elevate the writing, in ways you never would have imagined yourself.

This is incorrect! “Nickname” is a nickname for Mr. Nicholas Name

As a side project I’ve been levelling my garden. (SOLO levelling?) Moving tons of soil to make it flat (ish, allowing a small slope for drainage). It’s so much work, but it’s rewarding - I even started work on a big planter!
HOWEVER, ALSO: The gardening AND gym gains together are going WILD.
